Instagram line breaks
Wrote a caption with breathing room, and it posted as one squashed block? Paste it here: empty lines get a character the app keeps, stray spaces go, and you see the spacing before you post.

What the tool changes, and why
Instagram's apps have long squeezed captions: empty lines can vanish, and a line that ends in a space may lose its line break. How strictly it happens has varied between the app, the website and scheduling tools, so the safe move is to leave nothing for the app to trim.
- Blank lines get one character. The default, U+2800, is a Braille pattern with no dots: it looks empty but is not a space, so it is kept. A dot is the most predictable for screen reader users, who may hear the blank announced. The zero-width space is the least visible but some apps strip it.
- Trailing spaces at the end of a line are removed.
- Indents and double spaces are kept by mixing in no-break spaces, if you tick that option.
- Hashtag spacer adds lines of dots between your caption and a final block of hashtags, a common way to push tags below the fold.
The counts use Instagram's limits as of October 2026: 2,200 characters and 5 hashtags per post. Every filler character counts towards the 2,200.
Questions
Will the invisible character show up as a box?
Rarely. U+2800 is in the Braille block, which current phones and computers draw as an empty space. If you post for older devices, choose the dot.
Can I use this for other apps?
Yes. The result is plain text, so it pastes anywhere. Apps that keep blank lines will show the filler as an empty line too.
Does my caption leave the page?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and nothing is uploaded or saved anywhere else.
